SAFETYCAR [PROFESSIONAL] LIFETIME WARRANTY

The suppression tube supplied with the SAFETYCAR Automatic Fire Suppression System [PROFESSIONAL] and SAFETYCAR EV Automatic Fire Suppression System [PROFESSIONAL] is covered by the SAFETYCAR Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects throughout its rated service life.

Warranty Conditions

Lifetime Warranty coverage

Where SAFETYCAR confirms a manufacturing defect in the suppression tube, the following warranty remedy applies:

Period from Original Consumer Invoice DateWarranty Remedy
Year 11-to-1 replacement
Year 280% discount on a new replacement unit
Year 360% discount on a new replacement unit
Year 440% discount on a new replacement unit
Year 520% discount on a new replacement unit
After Year 5No warranty coverage

Year 1 begins on the original consumer invoice date and ends on the day before its first anniversary.

Each subsequent warranty year begins on the corresponding anniversary of the original consumer invoice date and ends on the day before the next anniversary.

For an end consumer, warranty coverage ends on the fifth anniversary of the original consumer invoice date.

YEAR 1 REPLACEMENT

For an approved manufacturing-defect claim during Year 1, SAFETYCAR will provide a replacement unit on a 1-to-1 basis at no charge for the replacement product itself.

Shipping, freight, duties, taxes, removal, installation, labour and all other associated costs are not covered.

YEARS 2 TO 5 REPLACEMENT DISCOUNT

For an approved manufacturing-defect claim during Years 2 to 5, the applicable warranty discount is applied to the prevailing price applicable to the party receiving the replacement unit at the time the claim is approved.

Accordingly:

  • Consumers receive the applicable discount from the prevailing retail price.
  • Trade customers receive the applicable discount from the prevailing reseller price.

The percentage of warranty coverage is determined by the original consumer invoice date.

Shipping, freight, duties, taxes, removal, installation, labour and all other associated costs are not covered.

Reseller WARRANTY PERIOD

The same Lifetime Warranty schedule applies where a warranty claim is handled by an authorised reseller.

However, for resellers, warranty coverage expires on the earlier of:

  • five (5) years from the original consumer invoice date; or
  • five (5) years and six (6) months from the applicable reseller invoice date.

This provides a maximum six-month allowance between the applicable trade purchase and sale to the end consumer.

The original consumer invoice remains mandatory and determines the applicable warranty year and corresponding warranty remedy.

The applicable reseller invoice must also be provided for a claim made or administered by a reseller.

5-YEAR RATED SERVICE LIFE

The SAFETYCAR Automatic Fire Suppression System [PROFESSIONAL] has a rated service life of five (5) years from the original consumer invoice date.

The rated service life begins from that date regardless of:

  • the installation date;
  • whether installation is delayed; or
  • whether the product remains unused or in storage for part of that period.

The product must be replaced when its rated service life expires.

Reaching the end of the rated service life is not a manufacturing defect and does not constitute a warranty claim.

WARRANTY REPLACEMENTS

A replacement unit supplied under an approved warranty claim does not restart, extend or renew the original warranty period.

The original consumer invoice date continues to determine the applicable warranty year and remaining warranty coverage.

For trade customer claims, the applicable trade-invoice warranty limit also continues to apply.

PRODUCT-SPECIFIC WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

The SAFETYCAR Lifetime Warranty applies to manufacturing defects in the suppression tube.

In addition to the exclusions contained in our general Warranty Policy, this product warranty does not cover:

  • The pressure gauge, where fitted
  • Installation accessories, including cable ties, brackets and other mounting components
  • Use or storage outside the specified operating temperature range of -40°C to 90°C
  • Activation or discharge resulting from external conditions, including fire, heat, pressure, chemicals, impact or other external causes
  • Physical damage to the suppression tube, including cutting, puncturing, crushing, excessive kinking or abrasion
  • A suppression tube that has activated or discharged during normal operation
  • Use beyond the product's five-year rated service life

A suppression tube that has activated or discharged must be replaced and must not be returned to service.

General exclusions relating to matters including installation, authorised resellers, misuse, modification, ownership, external damage and other warranty conditions are contained in the SAFETYCAR Warranty Policy.

WARRANTY REGISTRATION

Warranty registration is not a condition of warranty coverage.

Registration allows SAFETYCAR to record product and installation information and may simplify a future warranty claim.

Failure to register the product does not invalidate an otherwise eligible warranty claim.

Registration does not change, extend or restart the warranty period.

PROOF OF PURCHASE

Every warranty claim must be supported by the original consumer invoice or receipt issued by SAFETYCAR or an authorised reseller.

The original consumer invoice date determines:

  • the commencement of the 5-year rated service life;
  • the applicable warranty year;
  • the applicable replacement or discount entitlement; and
  • the consumer warranty expiry date.

For claims made or administered by an authorised dealer or distributor, the applicable trade invoice must also be provided to establish the applicable trade-channel warranty expiry date.

WARRANTY CLAIMS

If you believe your SAFETYCAR Automatic Fire Suppression System [PROFESSIONAL] has developed a manufacturing defect, please contact SAFETYCAR before removing, dismantling, modifying or disposing of the product.

To assess a warranty claim, SAFETYCAR may require:

  • the original consumer invoice or receipt;
  • the applicable trade invoice for dealer or distributor claims;
  • photographs of the product and installation;
  • details of the claimed defect;
  • installation information; and/or
  • return of the product for inspection.

A warranty remedy will be provided only where SAFETYCAR determines that the claim relates to an eligible manufacturing defect.

All claims are subject to these product-specific Warranty Conditions and the SAFETYCAR Warranty Policy.

IMPORTANT

The SAFETYCAR Automatic Fire Suppression System [PROFESSIONAL] must be installed, used and maintained in accordance with the applicable product instructions and Product Conditions of Use.

The SAFETYCAR Lifetime Warranty provides pro-rated coverage against manufacturing defects throughout the product's 5-year rated service life. It does not extend that rated service life.
