The SAFETYCAR® Fire Extinguisher Tube stores pressurised SCL25™ Clean Agent and responds directly to heat from a fire.
Installed around the components requiring protection, the temperature-sensitive tube opens at the hottest point and releases the extinguishing agent directly into the protected area.
Because the tube itself performs the detection and discharge functions, SAFETYCAR requires no external sensors, control units, vehicle wiring or manual activation.
SCL25™ Clean Agent is effective against Class A, B, C and electrical fires and is suitable for areas containing sensitive electrical and electronic equipment.
When SAFETYCAR activates, the agent is released as a pressurised fine mist before dispersing through the protected compartment.
Unlike conventional dry powder or foam extinguishers, SCL25™ leaves no powder, foam or corrosive residue on engines, wiring or electronics.

The SAFETYCAR Auto Fire Extinguisher has been installed on this 1972 Volkswagen Beetle. It will activate when at 120°C when there is a fire, and will extinguish the flames without leaving any messy foam or powder residue which can be damaging to the engine compartment.
